The Punnett Square
The Punnett Square is a diagram that is used to predict an outcome of a particular cross-breeding experiment.
It is named after Reginald C. Punnett.
Traits:
Dominant- a version of gene that covers the effect of another version.
Recessive- a trait that is hidden.
In the picture above:
-BB would represent the dominant trait which is Pistil and bb would represent the recessive which would be Pollen.
-Each offspring would get 1 gene of Pistil and 1 gene of Pollen, but the dominant trait would cancel out the recessive.
Hybrid- they both have 1 dominant and 1 recessive trait.
